Don't Lose. OR How to Keep Your Internet Business Money?

You'll work hard for your internet business money. It would be a shame to lose the rewards for all your hard work!

Imagine Your Website Marketing Results

In a couple of years time your website has succeeded beyond your wildest dreams. You have multiple income streams. You are adding a thousand dollars a day to your bank balance.

You are determined not to give the tax man the chance to award punitive damages, so you have an accounting program that you keep up to date every day...besides it's fun counting all your gains!

Then Windows becomes corrupted.

The only thing that you can do is to re-install Windows, first of all formatting the C: drive.

Once Windows is up and running you find that

You have lost all your data for the tax man.

You have lost your bank account data.

You have lost all your email addresses, so you hope they will email you.

You have paid for fifty programs. You can re-install those on CD, but you have lost the key-codes.

Making money on the internet still pours money into your bank accounts, but you've lost your account logins.

Your make money web site is still working, but you can't improve it because you've forgotten the address of your host and your login details for cPanel.

Cheer up!

It may have taken you four years to reach this stage, but if you start all over again you can probably do it in two years. And if you sell your mansion it should give you enough money to keep going for a couple of years.

Two Ways to Keep Your Internet Money

Do regular backups. If you are earning a thousand bucks a day, would it be worth backing up at the end of every day.

Use hard-drive partitions

If you have a new computer without Windows yet, you can create partitions. Otherwise use a tool such as Partition Magic. It's quite expensive, but it's worth it. If your hard drive holds 120GB then you could divide it up into six partitions of 20GB each.

Why is this worthwhile? If you keep as little as possible in the C: drive then when Windows becomes corrupt, you'll only lose what is in your C: drive. I have "My Documents" in the E: drive, and my mirrors of my website in the F: drive. The last time Windows crashed my data were completely unaffected.

One more thing. If your website gets a virus that is passed on to your visitors, you'll soon find yourself blacklisted. So get the best antivirus program that you can. My wife tried two popular freely available AV programs. Four times her computer crashed because of viruses that got past her free AV programs, and each time she had to pay hundreds of dollars to a technician to wipe the viruses and re-install the networking system. Now she has installed NOD...it's cheaper that way!

I've been using NOD by ESET for quite a few years now, and no viruses have got past it. It checks outgoing files as well as incoming files. Every year Australian PC User tests many AV programs and each year NOD is the best...although some other world-famous ones do find almost all the viruses used in the tests.

Think how terrible it would be if you saved ten dollars on an AV program and as a result were unable to keep your internet business money.
