How to Write a Book or How to Write an Article the Lazy Way

Author: Ian McAllister

What's difficult about how to write a book or article...or anything else for that matter? Deciding what to put in it of course, and I'll show you how to do that. Think about it! If you hear a good story you tell it to all your friends. You need to find words, of course, but that part is so easy that you can do it as fast as you can speak.

Copyright and Plagiarism

If you copy somebody else's work you will get no sympathy from anybody when the court fines you more money than you have.

But ideas can't be copyrighted...only the words in which they are described, and you already know that each time you tell a good story you will use different words. It would be hard work to memorize the copyright story so as to use the same words every time!

Article Research

So you collect information from the Internet as I'll show you, then decide which part will come first, which part last, and the order of things in between, and then throw out all the extra ideas that you won't use.

In the video I'll show you how to use cheap software to research articles at blinding speed. You could do it by hand, but why waste valuable time when you could be writing more articles?

Once you've done your research then use Content Composer for the rest.

Writing the Title

What, before you know what you'll write about? Yes!

You've already done your keyword research. You know what your main keyword will be for the article. So you write a title with the keyword and a benefit to attract the visitor.

When a visitor does a search, he glances down the list of titles that appears. He spends less than one second reading each title. You must grab his attention in that fraction of a second. All the good titles will have the keyword that he searched. So you must provide a benefit in your title that is better than just the keyword.

You only have 60 characters including spaces to work with. If he searched on digital camera, which title would be better.

  1. Digital Camera
  2. This digital camera will be the envy of all your friends

The title is the most important part of your whole article. It's job is to make the visitor pause long enough to glance at the description, which is the second most important part of your article, and must also contain an attractive benefit. Visit the forums if you don't know what will attract people interested in digital cameras or whatever.

How to Write an Article - Gathering information

When your to-do list says " article write " do you panic? It's easy with Content Composer and not terribly difficult with any text editor. The main reason why I don't like MS Word is that it puts in special characters that can ruin a web page. You?ve probably seen web pages using the first word in this sentence. That's the display for an unknown special character. I never have that problem with CC.

Creative Writing

Now the creative part starts - well, it's not terribly creative - no more than when you re-tell a good story.

Work down the page, rewriting it in your own words. You can often join sentences together, insert paragraphs and whatever else suits you. The left hand column shows the keyword density which will probably be in red, because the researched work will have too much keyword repetition.

You can soon find alternatives to the unwanted keywords. You can use pronouns such as it or they. You may be able to find alternatives with the built-in thesaurus. Just make sure that everything is in your own words, and it will no longer be plagiarism.

Of course this is original work that you're doing! Nobody else will sort the list in exactly the same way!

Now you will have to do some really creative writing. Your first paragraph must

  1. contain your main keyword
  2. promise something of benefit to the reader if they read the rest of the page.

What can you use for 2? Just look down your list of ideas, and pick something that would make you want to find out more about the subject. It must answer the question "What's in it for me?". I use the same material for the description metacontent in the head section of the web page and for my first paragraph.

Writing Software for Article Body

This is where Content Composer comes into it's own. There are too many tools to describe here.

When you have finished everything except the last paragraph, write your last paragraph to include your main keyword again. The red warning at the bottom of the page will change to an approving message in black.

Now note your word count (sorry, if you use other editors you'll need to count each word, and the total words in the article, then divide the number of times that you use each word by the total word count and multiply by a hundred to get the percentage word density) for each word and if you have missed out some of your intended keywords, fit them in to your article.

Subheadings break up the article. Some of your visitors will scan your article instead of reading, and they'll only read the sub-headings. So make sure that they will still get the message. Expand the cryptic subheadings provided by the research software. For instance you might change the subheading "camera" to Mechanics of your Digital Camera.

The video example shows you how to write review. It's just like any other article - easy. You won't think its difficult to find words. Use the software to research two items to compare. Most of your time will be spent savagely cutting down on the information, because you only want a couple of hundred words for each item in the review. Concentrate on the similarities and differences.

Write Own Book

That's easy. You already know how to write an article, and this writing software makes it easy. At the left of the CC page I have a word count. An article should be between 400 and 800 words, but definitely less than 2000 words.

I'm already up to more than 1250 words. To write your own book you just don't cut out as much.

Each chapter is an article about related topics, like the one you have just written so effortlessly. Research each article the same way. To get topics, see what questions people are asking in the forums and answer them. You now know how to write a book.
